Well, it went down to the wire (and a dodgy Diouf penalty: is he possibly the most dislikeable player in the Premiership?), but last night's result put Nick on equal pegging with myself with 5 points each.

Has anyone been following the Bellamy saga? Watched his interview with Sky last night and I'm with the Welsh wonder; he's always been one of our most hard working players, and I can't imagine him feigning injury; it all sounded genuine to me. As well as this, and although I support his appointment generally, Souness has got a reputation for forcing players out he doesn't get on with personally. Let's hope they can sort it out, 'cause I wouldn't like to see Bellamy leave.

It does have to be said that what Bellamy did have to say was decidedly odd, ie. that he had claimed to have a hamstring injury in order to get out of training long enough to talk to Souness. Now, that could be slightly plausible, and Souness having got a disliking for him blew it up into something it wasn't. Personally my regard for Bellamy shot up when he got his haircut.

As for the identity of the Premiership's most dislikeable player, surely he was making his debut for the opposition.

Indeed, it took him about 30 seconds to bring someone down with a two footed challenge. Shocking. Although I do feel sorry for him a bit, with regard to his recent saga. Has everyone else followed this? I'm hooked on Sky Sports News so I just presume everyone else knows all the petty little squabbles that they make up to pretend there's a story somewhere.

I think he did it. He's on par with that pesky Robbie Savage if you ask me. Both rather arrogant and still not sure why they wind others up.

As for Souness, he's not a very good manager and I think Newcastle under-sold themselves in landing him. What is his record so far in management? Bugger all
